1/1/18My first blog entry of 2018! Looking forward to many more tamagotchi adventures this year! I just hope I can keep my lazy ass focused better this year and not spend too much time slacking off! Hopefully Bandai will come out with a brand new tamagotchi this year and not another Mix version. But until then... Tamagotchi Mix Sanrio:Decided to start my Sanrio Mix first since it has the most new content of the 3 Mixes I got for Christmas. It has 7 new characters and 3 new locations, along with new baby and child characters. The Dream Town and Anniversary Gift Set Mixes only have 3 new characters and a single new location. Hatched it around lunch time into a baby girl. I have no idea what (or if) the new baby and child characters have translated names. A hour later she evolved into a child. Got this cute little white blob with stars on it from keeping happiness high. Now that she's a child I can finally check out the new games. The first is called Strawberry Cards. It's a memory game. It shows you all the cards for a second then flips them over and the game begins. You get unlimited turns the only drawbacks are if you flip the purple card over which instantly ends the game. And if you take to long ago timer will start counting down to end the game. I'm horrible with memory games but it could be easy if I snapped a picture at the beginning and cheat. The second game is called Guidetama Catch which is a "catch the falling stuff" game. Which is pretty familiar game as its been on tamagotchis before like the Connection V3 just slightly different. The Sanrio character Guidetama on the right will show you what you need to catch as they fall from the eggs at the top of the screen. To win you need to beat 15 rounds and it will give you 200gp. Unlocked 5 of the 7 locations and got 2 icon backgrounds: 1. Mermaid Palace - connected to 3 different Mixes. 2. Gozaru Village - Gozaru wallpaper and use the Conch Horn gotten from the Mermaid Palace. 3. Flower Hills - Flower wallpaper 4. Twin Star Land - Go to garden at night after 7pm. (+New icon background) 5. Berry Town - Eat 10 Berry Ice Creams from the restaurant. (+New icon background.) Also eating those Berry Ice Creams to unlock Berry Town turned her color from white to pink.

1/3/18Tamagotchi Mix Sanrio:Yesterday she evolved into a teen. I got Eriitchi from high happiness and 3-5 care misses. Started working on getting the care misses for the adult I want. That dam snowman yeti tama is back throwing his snowballs. Ugh... Today she evolved into an adult. I got Momotchi from getting 7+ care misses. She's one of the 2 adults you can only get on the first generation. She doesn't appear at any of the locations to marry. Now that she's an adult I can unlock the Melody Forest location. I just needed to go to the garden with a 1st generation adult to unlock it. Momotchi followed the flower path to the forest and met a adorable pink sheep and a mouse. The location also unlocked a new icon background. All thats left now is one more location to unlock and all I need to unlock it is to go to the garden on the 2nd generation. But I might wait a few days before marrying her off because I'm lazy and there's something else I'd like to post first....

1/4/18Video Games - Monster Rancher 2:I started playing Monster Rancher 2 for Playstation. Finally a video game is can blog about! Kinda hard to find a game that would be worthwhile to add to my blog. Or one that would even work well blogging about but with MR2 I can at least keep records of the monsters I raise. The Monster Rancher series is kinda in the middle between a virtual pet and a monster collection/battle game like Pokemon. Actually haven't been playing many video games in awhile besides mobile games like Tiny Farm. This will be my first real playthrough of MR2 even though I've owned a copy of it ever since the Playstation first came out. Never really sat down and actually played it through all these years. I think I struggled with it as a kid then never really came back to it. Even though I own the disc I'll be playing on an andoid PS1 emulator since my copy doesn't wanna work. It works just fine then it gets to a certain point where it glitches out and it just shows my monster walking around indefinitely, not letting me do anything. It will be easy to take screenshots using a emulator at least. Also I will be using some gameshark cheats but only for certain things as I want to play legit but I'm kinda forced into using some because of the way the game is designed. The only gameshark cheat I'll be using is for regenerating monsters. Unlike MR4 that once you obtain a monster you can regenerate another from your book anytime, MR2 isn't like this. You have to insert a disc everytime you want a monster and if you don't own any games/dvds of a certain monster type you're screwed regardless if you've unlocked that monster or not. So I'll be using the gameshark when generating monsters but ONLY breeds that I've unlocked. I'll also be using save states to make things easier. The game started on the 1st week of April of year 1000. My first goal was to obtain the seeds needed unlock the monster Mock which is the only missable monster. I'll talk more about this below. So I picked a purebreed Zuum as my first monster since I'm familiar with them from other games. Zuums are good with skill (the accuracy stat), having a balance of stats, and have a maximum lifespan of 450 weeks. To get the seeds I needed to first quickly get to and beat the Official B rank tournament which was a challenge. I trained Zuum using all Light Drills. There's 2 types of training your monster can do. Light Drills increase 1 stat slightly and fatigue slightly. Hard Drills increase 2 stats (one by a lot and the other by a little), lower one stat, and cause much more fatigue. Training/battles/resting all take 1 week to do and if your monster gets too much stress or fatigue it will cause it to loose some weeks of its maximum lifespan. Winning a tournament increases fatigue but actually lowers stress but besides that pretty much everything increases both fatigue & stress. To get the most out of your monster you'll want to find a training method keep fatigue and stress from getting too high and reducing lifespan. Two important items to use with training are Mint Leaves (reduces stress) and Nuts Oil (reduces fatigue) they cost 200 gold each and 1 item can be used per week along with whatever you had planned. My training schedule for Zuum I mostly used was pretty simple and kept from loosing any lifespan. It was LD/LD/LD/Rest+Mint Leaf (LD = Light Drill). I mainly just worked on two stats Power & Skill. Started out working on increasing skill so his attacks would hit easier then focused on power so his physical attacks would do more damage. My usual strategy in battles is to overwhelm the opponent with high power and quickly KO them. The stats you see above are what he's at now. I just barely beat the Official B rank (with lots of help from using save states to cheat). Not sure how much longer he'll live so now I'm using him to make lots of money from battles. B rank battles are one of the best money making methods. I've been freezing Zuum when theres no battles avaliable then using a purebreed Naga to pass the time in between tournaments. That way Zuum won't use up his lifespan and I can get more money from him. Using Naga as a trash monster and taking crappy care of it so it will die. I need a monster to die to unlock the Ghost breed and Nagas already start out with a low lifespan. Even with Zuums 550+ Power & 350+ Skill, I'm still having issues winning B rank tournaments so I've been save stating between each attack. I'm currently Grade 4 from winning the Official B rank and have unlocked 22 breeds out of 38. Here's a list of the monsters that I unlocked so far: 1. Phoenix - Got his feather from the Kawrea Volcano expedition. 2. Centaur - Found his spear during the Mandy Desert errantry between March-August with a Baby rank monster. 3. Gali/Henger/Mew/Worm - Beat the IMa vs FIMBA tournament. 4. Mock - (*Not technically unlocked yet but I got the seeds*) To get Mock you need to fist get the Mock Seeds. They are available once your at the 4th trainer grade (win official B rank) and gotten from the shop on a day when a new item becomes available. About every 140 weeks a new item becomes available in the shop. There's only 6 items that get added to the shop this way so if you don't get the seeds before the last item gets added you can never unlock Mock. I did the math and you have about 17 years to get the seeds not sure why I was so worried I got them on my 4th year. Anyway planted the seeds on 4th week of June, year 1004. In about 10 years from then the tree will grow, die, then once I have a monster die Mock will finally become available.

1/8/18Tamagotchi Mix Sanrio:Married my Momotchi to Kiki at Twin Stars Land. Took forever to get his friendship up to marry him. His favorite item was the star projector thing and not only did it's animation take forever but like 4 of the 5 characters at this location like it. They had a cute little blue baby boy. A hour later he evolved into a child. Went for the high happiness child again on my next generations I'll start going for the low happiness ones. He has the hair from his father and the color of his mother. Now that I'm on my 2nd generation I went outside to unlock the final location Puro Land. He took his suitcase then got on a train to Puro Land. There I also unlocked the last icon background. Now I can also take him to visit his parents around 7am to get a free 1,000gp. I used this to get enough money to buy all the new toys & accessories. The next day he evolved into the teen Mokokotchi. He now has the star from his father so far he's gotten all his traits from his father except color. His adult form looks odd but still cute. He got the hair, star, and eyes from his father and the body and color from his mom.

1/13/18Just got a short little update for today. I decided I'm going to restart my Sanrio Mix to get the pictures of all the new "pure" non-mixed babies and children characters. Once I'm done I'm not sure if I'm going to start a new run on the Sanrio Mix, try out another one of my 2 Mixes, or raise a vintage tama. Tamagotchi Mix Sanrio:Married him of to Melody and they had a baby girl. This time I went for the low happiness female child who is very cute. The next day she evolved into the teen Mokokotchi with Melody's rabbit ears. Her adult form is still mostly a Momotchi just with Melody's ears and Kiki's face.
